Dancers Everywhere

March 31st, 2008

April 18-20 Project Dance New York

If you love to dance, if you like to watch dance, if you are thinking about dance-This is THE place to be.

March 31st, 2008

It was a miserable day here in New York City. It has rained all day, it is cold and it looks like it is never going to stop; however that did not keep the Yankees fans at home. They were out in droves. I did a promo there and I got to see what it really means to be a fan.

You can go to and check out the pictures. Some of them are mine and some of them are from my team.

Time is Money, Money is Time

March 30th, 2008

If you have been reading this site, then you know I have a ton of good ideas. But you might be asking yourself, when do I have the time to do all these things. Well if you live in NYC already and have great items to sell, you can go to these two locations and have someone else sell them for you. You make less money but if you don’t have the time, it is one way to sell them and get that stuff outathehouseya’ll!

271 Flatbush Ave. Brooklyn, NY 718.622.6000

311 Lexington Ave. at 38th St. NY,NY 212.880.6800

Also all around the country Ebay drop off spots are sprouting up everyone. You might even want to consider it as a franchise opportunity.

March 30th, 2008

Okay so I just don’t think it gets more exciting than this! You may or may not know about Cafe Press but if you are a visual artist/photographer or have a company logo, you will want to check this out.

You go to and begin to upload your pictures. Then you can add those images to the products that interest you. I chose T-shirts primarily but it is not ONLY T-shirts. There is a price that they suggest and you add what mark-up you would like. So if a T-shirt is 16.99, you can add 3 dollars and make it 19.99. You get the three dollars when the T-shirt is sold. Isn’t that cool? All you have to do is upload the picture (well you do need to see if your picture fits the shape of the item as well as the quality as needed, so it is a wee bit more work, but not much).

So please do check out and if you make your own store, please do send me your store name.

4th Part of Interview-Enjoy

March 30th, 2008

RG: Have you continued acting?

Donna: An interesting thing is that the acting stuff comes and I am not  really pursuing it. Like my Mom says:

If you hold a handful of sand with an open palm, it is thereIf you close your hand, it slips through your fingers – Acting – I just kind of let relax, y’know? Do what you love and allow it to come to you, it’s funny that my calling actually lead me to my calling.

RG: Any parting words for actors that are trying to do this and be healthy?

Donna: I would say eat real food and don’t follow any one else’s diet- respect your own bodies wisdom and listen to your body. I love actors, I know they are coming from, I know what it is like to feel overweight, to miss out on a part because I was “too fleshy”

When I was young, I was overweight.  When you call me for a consultation make sure to ask me about the candybar and the highway story. (Something that you can’t see as the reader from an interview is the energy that Donna has. She is radiant. I really want that calm, yet energized feeling that she gives you and that she has. I really haven’t seen anyones eyes sparkle like hers in a long time.)

RG: Donna, Thank you so much for taking the time.  I know many actors are struggling with their weight and it is so exciting that you provide them with a healthy way to meet their goals.

Looking for a cool way to hang out with your friends that is tasty and economic. For 22 dollars a head we had cheddar and swiss cheese fondue-vanila champagne and milk chocolate fondue. We were in eight and I think everyone was full at the end. This place, well, my friends weren’t happy about the choice, so I won’t mention it; but I was so in love with the food, I will just forget about the other things. I delighted in my fondue and friendship. (The only thing that was missing was my sweetheart).

Putting the Spring back in my step with exercise

March 29th, 2008

I just received my Fitness Coupon Book (you can find the exact info on page 141 of my book). 75 dollars, one time, for 400 visits to gyms around the city. This afternoon I am off to one for a week of fitness, so excited to start exercising again.

Part Three of Interview

March 29th, 2008

Donna: Growing up I struggled with my own weight…As I got older and auditioned more I noticed that I booked different work at different weights. I found this interesting. The jobs seemed some how more fun when I was a lighter weight.

I remember one day I ran into a friend that I hadn’t seen in a long time. She looked emaciated, scrawny, unhealthy, dark circles; she just looked, um, depleted.I asked her what was going on. She went on to tell me that she  had booked a job where she was replacing someone-period costume-corsets-for her to get the work-she promised she would fit into the wardrobe. She explained that she was doing a juice fast of 600 calories, she was working out 3 hours a day, and she was grey-unhealthy.

RG: Gosh that is awful, but I am not surprised, when I was acting /dancing there were many days I would eat one meal and dance for 4-5 hours. I was living on the fuel of ambition but it was short lived and I did crash.

Donna: Because all actors are struggling with weight…I thought there has to be a better way…to get actors healthy and thin…look great on camera…but eating real food. I called my Aunt, a corporate trainer and told her I wanted to help actors. She advised me that I couldn’t do that unless I became certified some how-  I hated school but one day when I was talking to my landlord, he suggested Integrative Nutrition ( ) I decided to go. I studied with the top of Harvard’s Nutritional School, Dr. Andrew Weil, Deepak Choprah and many others.

RG: I love Deepak. I go to his Yoga Studio on Broadway.

Donna: While I was in school I got my first client, a friend of an actress on One Life to Live  she was happy told friends and it has been going strong ever since.

RG: What do you do for your clients to get them on a healthy path?

Donna: I look at what they are eating. I go to their kitchens and help them take things out that shouldn’t be there. We take a tour of a health food store and I provide them with energy filled recipes.  I teach them how to cook, we talk about their goals. I do what it takes for each client on an individual basis to help them get healthy thin for the camera, or whatever they need to get healthy thin for.

Health Counselor’s Part Two of Interview

March 28th, 2008

RG: I loved studying different types of acting but I was wondering, did you get a chance to use what you learned, do you get work? Donna: I did…I did soaps, that I love, I did a some independents (films) one movie won a bunch of awards and I was all over the papers (Bobby G. Can’t Swim) – that was exciting, my Mom was really excited! Mostly a bunch of under 5’s in soap, commercial print work and some plays (Check out for more info on her career)RG: That is awesome. I am so happy to hear that you had success…Donna: I still act and love it – I kind of shifted gears about three years ago, wanted to help people get healthy – really am focused more on my business lately.

RG: So, today your focus is more on your Holistic Health Counseling, how did this come about, this transition or change in focus?Donna: My mother was in sales and as a kid she dragged me around to see every motivational speaker she could get a ticket for… I was introduced to Anthony Robbins when I was only 15. He was the first person to make me see the connection between performance / energy level and what you put into the body… yeah… healthy living at an early age thanks Tony!
