Perplexed and vexed but not crushed

February 17th, 2012

The city asks so much of you and as you feel you are near to please it, it presents another hurdle to conquer. Thankfully New York City has some of the most beautiful quiet spots. I have this great little book call “New York’s 50 Best Places to Find Peace and Quiet” by Allan Ishac. I find that the churches here are some of the best places to pray, medidate, contemplate and most importantly to turn off your cell phones.

“When you are spinning,” as Miss Babs says of the Kickin’ Boogey Band,”Sit down right where you are and ask yourself intuitively to see what is most important to focus on. Take the time to stop the spinning.” Thanks Miss Babs, I needed that!

Maybe you are spinning today, stop right now and take time to calm yourself down or to let God calm you down. I promise it will make living in NYC or anywhere easier.

Hugs and dunked oreos in your milk or non-milk of choice,
RG
